It All Started With A Visit To Costa Rica

Over 20 years ago, a travel entrepreneur whose main business was government travel, heard from a close friend about a small country where fishing was known to be the best. It was in 1996, when Arthur Salus, CEO of Duluth Travel in Atlanta, Georgia, decided to give it a chance and embarked on a fishing expedition to Costa Rica. His passion for sportfishing has taken him to many places in search for the best spot. It was until his first visit to Costa Rica, when Arthur caught a Marlin at the first try in the deep Pacific Ocean of Guanacaste. He knew this was a sign and that is when his love for this amazing country and its people began. Arthur of course, came back for more. 

He explored Costa Rica’s rainforests and beaches at least two times each year with his family and friends. From all their family vacations, Arthur noticed this destination made his children and wife feel confident to walk around and explore. They were happy and Costa Rica made them feel like home.

Salus discovered that this small country offered more than Mexico and the Caribbean combined. Its pristine national parks, beaches, wildlife, perfect weather and the possibility of fishing all year round, made Costa Rica the ideal destination for vacation seekers. Besides its beauty, Costa Rica was one of the safest countries in Central America. You could have Adventure, Nature, & Beach, all in one visit. 

Eager to share these experiences with others, Arthur’s idea of creating a destination travel company that provides a distinctive vacation to help people reconnect with each other and nature, came a reality in 1999. It was on that year that Salus decided to attend to a tradeshow in Chicago searching for Costa Rica suppliers to partner with. He met Roys Diaz, the owner of a Destination Management Company (DMC) in Costa Rica. Their connection was instant. They both share the same passion for travel and wanted to make Costa Rica a preferred destination for travelers in the United States.   

With their combine experience and resources, both created Costa Rica Dream Adventures (CRDA) with the main objective of offering complete custom vacation packages based on the traveler preferences. Fully packed itineraries with combinations of two locations (or more), transfers, lodging and tours, as well as 24/7 in country assistance, gave tourist the confidence of a stress-free vacation. All they needed to do was enjoy and relax. 

With offices in Atlanta Georgia and San Jose, Costa Rica, Costa Rica Dream Adventures has positioned itself as one of the best Tour Operators in the United States. The company expanded its services by working with travel agents around the country as their preferred destination supplier.
