Interact with the inspirational women of Trafalgar

Trafalgar is excited to celebrate the incredible women they are proud to be associated with this International Women’s Day.

Now, more than ever, clients have the opportunity to see firsthand and interact with the inspirational women of Trafalgar and experience how the transformative power of tourism across the globe can promote sustainable initiatives and economic empowerment.

Marta Cucchia

A skilled artisan preserving the ancient Perugian hand-weaving heritage. During Trafalgar’s 11-day Italy Bellissimo program, Marta Cucchia teaches visitors the ancient art of Perugian hand-weaving.

As part of Join Trafalgar’s heritage initiative, guests can meet Marta at Laboratorio Giuditta Brozzetti and discover the fascinating craft up close, learning how their visit can help to preserve the weaving heritage.

Gemma Kempthorne

Guests can travel and meet yoga teacher and owner of Trefranck Farm in Cornwall, Gemma Kempthorne, a woman on mission to bring happiness into the lives of her visitors during Trafalgar’s 8-day Best of Devon and Cornwall guided experience. As part of Trafalgar’s ‘Be My Guest’ experience, Gemma hosts guests for lunch and tales of farming heritage at her homely Cornish farmstead which has been in their family since the early 18th century.

Gemma also runs Rosehip Barn. Part of the Trefranck estate it’s her yoga studio and sanctuary for local, wellness-loving women.

Poppy Salinger

Proprietor of the idyllic La Bastide Rose guesthouse in the heart of Provence, Poppy Salinger is a woman with much wisdom and many-a story to share during Trafalgar’s 9-day Wonderful France guided experience.

Widow of Pierre Salinger, former press secretary to JFK, Poppy now welcomes Trafalgar guests to La Bastide Rose – a historic mill on the banks of the Sourge – sharing her stories and hospitality. Guests dine on Provencal cuisine prepared with ingredients fresh from the garden.

Diana Lenzi

New for 2018, Trafalgar’s 11-day Wonders of Italy program, offers guests the opportunity to meet with a former chef who gave it all up to run her family’s Tuscan wine estate.

Diana Lenzi is a woman led by her heart. Following her mother’s motto, “learn as you go” she threw herself into the business of running the Fattoria di Petroio estate, which produces the most wonderful Chianti.

Clients will join Diana and her family for dinner, an olive oil tasting and generous helpings of Chianti.
